FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions.

1. How far in advance should I place my cake order? Any custom, specialty, or birthday cake should be ordered seven days prior to your special event. Please call us to discuss availability and design.

2. Can I make changes to or cancel my order once it has been placed? Yes. We request 48 hours’ notice to change or cancel an existing order.

3. Does Amy’s Cake Kitchen deliver? We deliver wedding cakes and specialty custom cakes upon request. A delivery charge based on distance traveled will be added to your order’s final price.

4. Can I freeze my cake? Yes. You can request your cake be frozen upon pick up, or you can freeze it yourself. Simply put the cake in the freezer and chill until firm, remove from the freezer and wrap in several layers of plastic wrap (be sure to be cautious with decorative work on the cake), and re-freeze until a day before the cake is needed. Remove the cake from the freezer and place in the refrigerator for 24 hours prior to the event. Remove the cake from the refrigerator the morning of the event and place the cake in a cool, safe, room-temperature environment until it’s ready to be served.

5. How do I handle my cake once I pick it up? If you are picking up a cake during the summer months and its hot and humid outside, please make sure your vehicle has air conditioning. Please place your cake on a flat, clean surface. Transporting the cake on an uneven surface could result in the cake splitting or cracking. Please do not attempt to transport your cake on yours or a passenger’s lap.

6. What forms of payment do you accept? We accept cash or check only. We apologize for any inconvenience but we do not accept credit or debit cards at this time in order to keep our operating costs low.

7. Can I place an order online? We prefer to speak with you directly; therefore we do not accept orders online.

8. Do you ship cakes? Unfortunately, we do not ship cakes via postal or courier services.
